Session Description: Outline of session Speaker 1. (either Dr. Jude Maul, Linda Kinkel) The AgMicroBiome RCN. What it was put together for? Why are these grand scale coordination efforts necessary? What are we talking about using novel social, data and emerging network architecture? Speaker 2. (either Dr. Daniel Manter, Bruce Vanderberg.) Unique needs of agricultural microbiome data acquisition, processing and handling. How do we ensure accurate and consistent data acquisition among different agricultural landscapes and agroecosystems. Introduction to USDA-ARS efforts to store and process microbial ecology data in the cloud in support of the USDA- Long Term Agricultural Research network. Speaker 3. (either Dr. James Tiedje, Daniel Buckley) Application of novel approaches for understanding the linkages among agricultural microbial communities from farm our food and healthcare systems. Speaker 4. (either Dr. Nick Short (ESRI), Adam Rivers (USDA) or Minnesota Super Computing Center) The computing and processing network infrastructure needed to address the complexities of agriculture microbiome research into useable and informative data products. Discussions of public and private efforts to provide integrative computing resources for addressing agricultural issues; USDA- Ceres supercomputer and SciNet, Minnesota Super Computing Center, Kbase, Galaxy.
