Session Description: We will demonstrate the free (iPhone and Android) Land-Potential Knowledge System (LandPKS) app, and invite participation in a discussion of both new modules and integration with other tools, including FarmOS. The currentversion of LandPKS provides a number of on-farm data collection and interpretation functions, including (a) simple soil characterization (texture, color) for non-soil scientists, (b) soil identification and access US and global soil information, (c) automated prediction of PAWHC and infiltration capacity based on texture and organic matter contents, (c) land capability classification, (d) a small-farm recorded keeping module, and (e) soil and pasture/rangeland health monitoring.
