Format: Poster Topical Session
Keywords: fate of nutrients and contaminants , kinetics and soil biogeochemical reactions and processes

Session Description: Soils are complex systems where chemical reactions seldom reach true equilibrium. Consequently, understanding the kinetics of processes that control distribution, fate, and bioavailability of nutrients and contaminants is critical for developing predictive models and effective management strategies.  This session welcomes studies that seek to quantity the rates of chemical, physical, and mineralogical transformations in soil.  We particularly seek studies that use in-situ spectroscopic, scattering, microscopic, and electrochemical approaches to quantify rates and explore mechanisms of biogeochemical processes.
