Session Description: An ever-growing population, combined with increasing water scarcity, has intensified demand for quality water for urban consumption, creating urgency for integrated and sustainable water resources management. It is vital to establish novel water conservation strategies and to develop new water resources for metropolitan areas to enhance urban water use efficiency, keep plants alive under continued drought and water restrictions, and guarantee the long-term sustainability of water resources. This session focuses on application of smart irrigation technologies in urban settings, landscape irrigation using recycled and saline water, modeling/measurement of landscape ET, urban storm water management, and low impact development.
