Keywords: land surface properties and processes and remote sensing
Session Description: The ability to accurately quantify large-scale environmental processes is at the core of numerous earth science and environmental engineering applications that directly impact the global environment and human society. While direct quantification of large-scale environmental processes is prohibitively expensive due to the large number of required sampling points, rapidly evolving remote sensing technology provides exceedingly powerful means for determination of spatial heterogeneous environmental variables and fluxes. Contributions focused on, but not limited to, advances in small- to large-scale airborne (e.g. UAVs) and satellite remote sensing technology or innovative approaches to radiative transfer modelling and data assimilation are welcome.
