Format: Oral Topical Session
Keywords: soil function and soil indices

Session Description: Indices/indicators are useful as quantitative measures to evaluate soil conditions, soil functions, or soil-ecosystems. The challenge is to develop a new generation of indicators and indices in support of health and security of soil and food. This session welcomes contributions related to novel index and indicator studies conducted in soil science, ecology, crop science, agronomy, and economy. A critical discussion about the strengths and weaknesses of soil indices will enable to generate new ideas for future indicator/index research and applications.
