Session Description: This symposium aims to present both a historical and forward-looking discussion of how major biogeochemical cycles of essential elements should be considered in soil science. Presenters will consider the contributions of multiple independent and interactive controls that have significant landscape to global scale implications for stocks, nature, fluxes and turnover rates of carbon, nitrogen, and other essential nutrients.
