Session Description: Sea levels are rising and coastlines are moving around the world, a natural process of change accelerated and exacerbated by numerous human activities. The impacts of this change are transforming soils and habitats, altering water quality, and threatening infrastructure. As professionals from myriad disciplines work to understand these changes and how communities can adapt to them, the need for cooperation between disciplines is clear. This symposium will bring together prominent thinkers from the soil science and marine science communities to highlight areas where we can work together to better understand and manage coastal and subaqueous environments in a dynamic world.
