Session Description: This session recognizes the 350th anniversary of the discovery of phosphorus by Hennig Brand in 1669. The 350th "anniversary" of our relationship with phosphorus presents an ideal opportunity to consider where we have been, where we are, and where we should take this relationship. In this session, we will consider changes to the way we currently manage phosphorus, opportunities to improve phosphorus management and recycling from waste streams in the future, and socio-economic challenges of "forging" broad societal alliances towards long-term solutions.
