Session Description: Increasing the productivity of agricultural lands under increasing environmental stress is one of the primary challenges of our time. Increasing temperatures, frequent drought, and degradation of soil health, including salinization threaten global food security and increase yield gap. Studies have demonstrated that environmental stresses can be ameliorated by harnessing specific plant-microbe interactions. This symposium highlights examples of plant microbe interactions that lead to enhanced productivity or stress tolerance in native or managed ecosystems.
