Session Description: Soil ecosystems harbor a complex web of organisms (bacteria, fungi, invertebrates, protists, and viruses) that provide ecosystem functions and services including nutrient cycling. However, most of the current knowledge regarding biological roles in nutrient cycling is derived from studies focused on bacteria and fungi. Here, we explore how other members of the soil food web contribute to nutrient cycling and carbon sequestration.
