Session Description: Enhancements to crop productivity for smallholder farmers can be met by integrating new approaches and insights in the area of genetic diversity, high-throughput phenotyping, environmental modeling and agronomic best practices. These high-tech solutions must be met with local needs with environmental preservation and sustainability at its core. Partnership with local communities combined with new innovations is a critical starting point for effective change. This session seeks to uncover different methods for applied research to gain a broader understanding of key scientific insights that enhance both the science and the community outcomes for smallholder farmers.
