Session Description: Enhancements to crop productivity for smallholder farmers can be met by integrating new approaches and insights in the area of genetic diversity, high throughput phenotyping, environmental modeling and agronomic best practices. These high-tech solutions must be met with local needs with environmental preservation and sustainability at its core. Partnership with local communities combined with new innovations is a critical starting point for effective change. This session seeks to uncover different methods for applied research to gain a broader understanding of key scientific insights that enhance both the science and the community outcomes for smallholder farmers.
