Session Description: Biosphere 2 is located north of Tucson, Arizona at the base of the stunning Santa Catalina Mountains. This one-of-a-kind facility, built in 1991, has been named one of the 50 Must-See Wonders of the World by Time-Life Books. A video tour of the facility will help you to see why visitors from around the globe journey here for a unique adventure. The tour will lead you through all five biomes of Biosphere 2, from tropical forest to desert, and will introduce you real-time research on the future of our planet as it unfolds in the world's largest earth science laboratory. You will view the inner workings of this 3.1-acre feat of engineering, and tour the habitat where the original ‘Biospherians’ lived in 1991. The tour will end with a lecture/Q&A with the current deputy director of Biosphere 2, Dr. John Adams, on Tuesday November 10th at 4:00 pm Central.
