Session Description: Presentations will discuss the potential of new or improved management practices in addressing climate change and restoring ecological balance while ensuring food security. This session also includes the 21^st Annual Joint SWCS-SSSA Symposium, entitled "Interconnections between extreme weather, flooding, conservation, and flood control policy" that will be held at the 2020 SWCS annual meeting in Des Moines, Iowa. Extreme weather events are becoming more frequent and/or severe in the U.S. and around the world. This joint session will continue the tradition of cooperation between these professional societies and help bring together scientists, conservation practitioners, and other national and international cooperators.
