Session Description: When it comes to science, policymakers need an answer to the 'so what?' question to justify spending precious federal dollars. Through discussion and guided exercises, you will learn how to effectively communicate the rational for your research funding with policymakers. Then each attendee will present their three-minute research 'pitch' to our policy experts and fellow participants. Receive feedback on your narrative to help you make the most clear, concise, and compelling case that explains why policymakers should support your research. We suggest viewing the Advocacy 101 pre-recorded session before attending Advocacy 102.
