I am either (a) a presenter at a workshop, meeting, seminar, or other program or event sponsored by the American Society of Agronomy, the Crop Science Society of America, or the Soil Science Society of America (collectively, ASA/CSSA/SSSA) or (b) an author of materials to be provided to participants or attendees of the program or event.
I hereby grant to ASA/CSSA/SSSA the right to reproduce, adapt, publish, distribute, and sell all or part of the written materials I submit for the program or event. I understand and agree that reproduction may be by electronic media, or in any other medium now known or later developed. I understand that I retain, for my own use, the ownership of the copyright to the written materials of which I am the author, but, by submitting these materials for the program or event, I am granting to ASA/CSSA/SSSA a perpetual, limited license to use the materials in the manner detailed in this release.
I grant to ASA/CSSA/SSSA the right to use, in any media, my name, biographical information, and likeness in connection with the program or event, including for the purposes of publicity and promotion. I also grant to ASA/CSSA/SSSA the right to record my person and presentation, including any question-and-answer period, on videotape, audiotape, digital media, or any other medium now known or later developed. I further grant to ASA/CSSA/SSSA the right to reproduce, adapt, broadcast, publish, distribute, and sell all or part of such presentation in both print and electronic media, and any other medium now known or later developed in any product of ASA/CSSA/SSSA. However, I understand that ASA/CSSA/SSSA will not allow others to make commercial use of my materials without my permission.
I understand that ASA/CSSA/SSSA expects their presenters to respect the proprietary rights of others, just as I expect my own rights to be respected. Accordingly, in submitting materials for this program or event, I agree that I have created and own all of the materials I submit and that they are free of any copyright claim by others, except for those portions that may be in the public domain, or are the work of others for which I have permission to use and in which I have the authority to grant a license for their use (and will provide proof of this upon request), and that the materials may be used for the purposes set out in this release. In the event that the program or event involves multiple sessions, I understand and agree that this release shall be effective for any and all sessions in which I participate and that this single release will be sufficient to release my rights for each and every session as though I signed a separate release for each session or program in which I participate or to which I make a contribution. I understand that ASA/CSSA/SSSA are under no obligation to publish my materials or to allow me to present them.
If I am an employee of the United States government and I prepared my written materials as part of my official duties, I acknowledge my written materials are not entitled to copyright protection and, consequently, the provisions above regarding copyright do not apply to my written materials.
