Students were selected to participate in a student exchange program from two universities in Brazil and two in the United States to gain an understanding of bioenergy production and precision agriculture systems in the respective countries. In the United States, students from Brazil gained experience in starch and cellulosic bioenergy production whereas in Brazil, students from the United States were exposed to bioenergy production from sugar cane and eucalyptus. Students from Brazil and the United States were provided numerous opportunities to experience a blend of cultural, linguist and historical traditions. As a result of these activities, several students have been afforded opportunities for internships experiences and enrollment in graduate programs.
