The University of Manitoba and the extension service has provided full-day Diagnostic Clinics for crop scouts, agronomists and farmers for the past 20 years. With increasing interest in commercial organic production a clinic focused directly at Organic production was developed and delivered in summer 2014. Lessons focused on legumes as nitrogen providers, nutrient budgeting for proper rotation planning, soil and plant testing for nutrient sufficiency, soil health, tillage implements for soil conservation and weed management and other cultural and physical methods of weed control. Examples of proper, improper and inadequate management were implemented, then participants were required to make assessments and recommendations.
