101 Symposium--Perennial Grains Around the World

Oral Session
ASA Section: Global Agronomy
Recent interest in utilizing perennial grain crops to provide ecosystem services while providing food security has led to a number of crop breeding projects around the world. This symposium will present recent findings about emerging perennial crops, including perennial rice, wheat, maize, and sorghum. The session will address the challenges in breeding and identification of stable lines, as well as explore their environmental and economic potential in a variety of agricultural contexts, from smallholder farms to larger, corporate operations. A variety of presentations are sought to offer a global perspective.
