Stiegler Fellowship Golf Fundraiser

Tours
On Dec. 24, 2010, the turfgrass academic community lost one of its brightest young scholars, when James Christopher (Chris) Stiegler and his wife, Jenny, were killed in an automobile accident in Texas. The Stiegler Fellowship Fund was created to honor Chris’ major contributions to the Division C5 Turfgrass Science of CSSA as a graduate student and to further encourage future scholars to participate in our meetings. Funds will be used to award travel grants each year to deserving graduate students in CSSA’s Division C5 Turfgrass Science.
In an effort to facilitate funding of the endowment a golf fundraiser will be held at Oak Creek Golf Club in Irvine, CA on Sunday, Nov. 2. Oak Creek Golf Club, designed by Tom Fazio, presents new challenges amid tapered fairways, scenic greens, beautiful lakes and bull-nose carved bunkers. With dense and dynamic flora, Oak Creek creates a sanctuary not only for your playing experience but for a variety of birds and other fauna as well. The golf event will be a 4 person scramble tournament with awards for the winning team and other contests. Shotgun start at 9:00 am. Transportation from the Long Beach Convention Center is provided.  Clubs can be rented for an additional fee. Limited number of participants, so register early!
