International Year of Soils – Planning and Implementation.

The planning and implementation of outreach for the 2015 International Year of Soils was a collaborative effort of both members and staff.  The year-long planning and development came to fruition with the launch of IYS at the United Nations on World Soil Day, December 5, 2014.  Components included identifying key audiences, monthly themes, member leader recruitment, materials, web presence, metrics, and public relations.  Behind the scenes, consideration of budgetary impacts, fundraising, and staff resources was also part of the planning.  With IYS now wrapping up, this poster will provide an overview of the “behind-the-scenes” and staff-lead activities – as a compliment to the monthly themed posters.
