Abstract:
The Maryland Agricultural Water Quality Cost-Share Program incentivizes farmers to adopt cover crops by direct payments. Payments are scheduled by management, including species choice, planting date, planting method, fertilization, and field history. A study area of sites was identified in Talbot County, MD, on the Eastern Shore to assess the performance of cover crops enrolled in the program, with biomass collected from 2005-2011.
