Abstract:
Spring wheat response to additions of phosphorus, sulfur, copper, and zinc was evaluated during 2014-2016 growing season near Glyndon, MN on a Beardon Silty Clay Loam soil. Treatments were: (1) no nitrogen, (2) recommended N, and in addition to recommended N, (3) 11-52-0 @ 45 kg/ha, (4) sulfur @11 kg/ha (as ammonium sulfate), (5) copper @ 1 kg/ha, (6) Zinc @ 1 kg/ha. Individual treatment plots measured 3 m wide and 9 m long. During 2015, application of 11-52-0, and copper and sulfur in addition to recommended N increased the grain yield by 0.34 and 0.32 Mg/ha, respectively. Addition of non-conventional nutrients like, copper, zinc and sulfur did not increase economic grain and protein content.
