174 Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Migitation from Managed Lands Poster (includes student competition)

Poster Session
SSSA Division: Soil and Water Management and Conservation
Greenhouse gases contributing to global warming are over abundant, while burgeoning populations is increasing pressure on scarce resources. Soil management to reduce or mitigate agricultural greenhouse gas and to enhance soil health are critical to addressing these interrelated challenge.  This session will focus on strategies that utilize managed lands (i.e., crop and grazing lands) to increase soil carbon, thereby meeting nation and international (i.e., COP21 4/1000 initiative) mitigate greenhouse gas and improve soil health and productivity. Management to mitigate greenhouse gas emission need to do so without compromising food production.  Likewise, increasing food production needs to avoid environmental degradation.
