228 Impacts of Soil and Water Pollution on Food Safety Oral (includes student competition)

Oral Session
SSSA Division: Soils and Environmental Quality
There is a strong link between environmental pollution and food safety. This session will emphasize the impacts of soil and water contamination by trace elements, pesticides, organic contaminants, nanoparticles, and chemicals of emerging concern to food safety, use of soil amendments to ameliorate soil quality for agricultural production, and appropriate irrigation with reclaimed water in agricultural lands.
