Abstract:
The Soybean Innovation Lab works to bring about institutional change through addressing all aspects of the soybean value chain in sub-Saharan Africa. Particular points of focus include increasing capacity and capabilities of soybean breeders in Ethiopia, Ghana and Zambia; creating an MS program in plant breeding at the West African Center for Crop Improvement, enlisting the Kwame Nkurmah University of Science and Technology to engage in an agricultural mechanization revolution in Ghana, and developing markets for soy through development of a soy food processer network.
