Abstract:
The California Farm Demonstration Network was formed in 2017 as a partnership between the California Farm Bureau Federation, the California Association of Resource Conservation Districts, the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, the California Department of Food and Agriculture, the University of California Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and the University of California, Davis to showcase the implementation of conservation agriculture practices and systems by early adopters which can then provide a pathway for adoption by other farmers. The Network is modelled after several other successful similar farmer-based efforts around the country and provides a framework for farmer discovery, learning, and adoption of improved performance systems. Formation, goals, and implementation of the Network will be discussed.
