Abstract:

Optimizing Adjuvants and Dicamba Combinations for RR2 Xtend Soybeans

Adjuvants and Dicamba products have been on the market for many years, however, only a limited number of combinations are labelled for use on the new Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans. The objective of this study is to measure the droplet size and canopy penetration of Engenia® (Dicamba) used in combination with the adjuvants AG16098 and InterLock™. The experiment was conducted on an 80 acre field west of Menomonie Wisconsin. 40 acres of the field was sprayed with Engenia® at 12.8 ounces per acre and AG16098 at 0.5% volume to volume (v/v). The other 40 acres of the field was sprayed with Engenia® at 12.8 ounces per acre, AG16098 at 0.5% v/v and InterLock™ at 2 ounces per acre. Results from this study will be used to optimize herbicide and adjuvant combinations that maximize efficacy of the Dicamba herbicide and reduce the amount of injury of non-Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans.
