Abstract:
Little is known about the mineral transformation which occurs along the slopes of the Western Oregon Cascade mountain range. Studies have been done in Northern California and Washington, but there is a gap in Oregon. This study looked the mineralogy of 3 sets of environmental toposequences, which span from the western foothills to the high cascade plateau. The goal was to see how weathering trends are affected by the increased precipitation and latitude of the Western Oregon Cascades.
