Abstract:
This year the Wheat State Agronomy Club is working to inform consumers throughout the area about the healthy traits of wheat. To do this, club members are presenting at various events throughout the Manhattan community and surrounding areas about the importance of wheat in a balanced and healthy diet. Club members also explained that most of the wheat consumed is grown locally in Kansas. The goal of this project is to initiate conversation and debate the myths involving wheat nutrition, health, and gluten. Club members were about to gain knowledge about locally grown wheat and improve their ability to communicate with consumers.
