Improvement of Agronomic Traits in Silphium.

Silphium (Silphium integrifolium) is an oilseed crop native to North America that is being domesticated by The Land Institute and other collaborators for the purpose of providing oilseed for human and animal consumption, as well as perennial ecosystem services such as an extended growing season, soil stabilization, water retention, and resilience to abiotic stresses. In this 5 minute rapid presentation, advances and findings in oil composition and content, germination, and selfing will be shared, as well as future improvement goals.
