Abstract:
OFRF has conducted a review of the USDA OREI/ORG funded projects over the past fifteen years. Guides have been developed to provide farmers and researchers with current research results. Farmer and ranchers can use these guides to adopt results in creating a more sustainable and systems approach to organic production. Researchers can have a detailed review of research findings and potential for future research needs. This presentation will provide highlights from the results on soil health related to tillage management, soil biology, carbon sequestration, nutrient management, and building organic matter. The highest priorities for future research needs will also be highlighted based on results from the OREI/ORG research and from a national farmer survey conducted by OFRF in 2015.
