383 Symposium--Soil Organic Matter Management Alternatives for Smallholders
Oral Session
ASA Section: Global AgronomyBuilding on the overarching concepts discussed in the preceding Special Session, this symposium includes a series of brief talks addressing a range of topics relevant to smallholder management of soil organic matter. This includes analysis of surface and subsurface soil surveys and interactivity of soil organic matter with soil water, as well as the management impacts of cover crops, mechanization, fertilization, and conservation agriculture. Study locations range from Haiti and South Florida, to West and East Africa. Community discussion will focus on cross-cultural exchange of management applications designed to improve organic inputs and soil organic matter for smallholders.
