316 Microbial Transformations of Minerals, Metals and Organic Matter: Impacts on Contaminant Dynamics and Carbon Storage Poster (includes student competition)
Poster Session
SSSA Division: Soil ChemistryInteractions between microbes, minerals and organic matter have a central role in the biogeochemical cycling of major and trace elements in soils. This session invites contributions that advance current understanding of how these interactions regulate the persistence of organic matter (and associated C, N, P) and fate of metals (e.g., Mn, Fe, Cr, As, Se, and U) . This session seeks contributions describing recent field- and laboratory-scale biogeochemical processes and experiments that evaluate the link between microbial organic matter transformations and metal cycling in natural and anthropogenically impacted soil systems.
