The National eXtension Initiative was developed as an online tool for pooling information across land grant universities and Cooperative Extension Services. State Extension corn and soybean specialists met to develop a grant proposal and create a Community of Practice. The Corn and Soybean Production Community of Practice successfully obtained a grant from the National eXtension Initiative to develop content common across regions and the nation. Recognizing that excellent state Extension websites existed and that our clientele demand information for local situations, our Community of Practice decided to create content pages with some very general information. With that general information, we encourage clientele to look to State Extension websites for specific answers. The Corn and Soybean Production site on eXtension gives us the national recognition while promoting the need for local expertise and answers. The website for Corn and Soybean Production is at: http://www.extension.org/soybeans
