The Still Creek Boys and Girls Ranch in Bryan, Texas, is a private Christian school that provides a loving, structured home for children who are victims of abandonment, abuse or broken homes.  The ranch’s goal is to give these children a second chance and teach them responsibility and a good work ethic through 4H animal projects, daily chores, and both traditional and nontraditional classroom instruction. Still Creek’s goal is to provide an opportunity for children to grow up safe and secure, enabling them to reach their full potential.

Students of the Texas A&M Agronomy Society are getting involved first hand with the goal of teaching these children about the importance of agriculture and soil using hands-on activities both in and out of the classroom. A&M students lead hands-on experiments to teach lessons in the classroom and incorporate the ranch’s large garden plot as a teaching tool.

We believe that through planting the seeds of knowledge in the developing minds of these remarkable young boys and girls, the Texas A&M Agronomy Society is not only educating a future generation about the importance of agriculture, but also giving back to the local community in a rewarding and fulfilling way. The TAMU Agronomy Society continues to design new lessons and experiments for both the classroom and garden providing meaningful learning opportunities for the children at the ranch.
