The eddy covariance method is an important tool in measuring energy, carbon, and trace gas (ammonia and methane) fluxes in the surface boundary layer. Interest in this approach has increased in recent years due to the availability of equipment. The challenge is now to understand the proper use of these systems. The papers in this session will address aspects of measurement techniques, data processing, data corrections, flux footprint analysis, and ancillary data needed for the correct measurement of fluxes using eddy covariance technique in agricultural systems, along with results of specific studies.
