204 Symposium--“Green” Grazing for Enhancing Food and the Environment: I

The theme of this symposium is enhancing food product attributes through pasture-based livestock production systems that also provide valuable ecosystem services. The invited speakers will focus on research results describing the nutritional attributes of meat, dairy, and poultry products produced from grass-based livestock systems and the environmental impact of those systems. Speakers will address the opportunities, economics, and challenges in producing, promoting, and marketing pasture-based food products in a responsible fashion. Knowledge gaps and research needs will be identified and how forage scientists and professional agricultural advisors can contribute toward enhancing food and the environment with grass-based livestock production systems.
