Agriculture and forestry have an uncertain road ahead under changing climate conditions. In 2011, the 25 x ’25 Alliance assembled an Adaptation Work Group composed of agriculture, forestry, business, academic and conservation leaders chaired by the former president of National Corn Growers Association. Two USDA projects (PINE CAP and CORN CAP) have worked along side these leaders to focus on production systems, risk management and ecosystem services & environmental impacts with the intent to develop a white paper and communication strategy for engaging the agricultural and forestry communities in dialogues about climate change, its impacts and the many solutions farmers, rancher and forest land owners can deliver.
