In addition to the need for Si, recent soil tests within the Midwest and Eastern United States have revealed increasing Sulfur (S) deficiencies from decreased atmospheric S deposition. A means of supplying both Si and S to crops with minimal soil pH altering effects was pursued. A pilot study was conducted on field corn (Zea mays L.) and winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) in Western Pennsylvania to evaluate crop yield response, soil test parameters, and plant nutrient uptake in response to a single spring broadcast application of an AgrowSil®-Gypsum Blend. The results of this pilot study will be presented.
