Abstract:
Social Media is transforming the world that we live in. As technology evolves to allow for new and instantaneous forms of communication, the way people interact is changing on a fundamental level. As these technologies become more engrained in daily life, consumers have shown an increased willingness to welcome brands and companies into their social networks. This represents a unique and exciting marketingopportunity for organizations that are prepared to embrace it.

Over the past year, Aquatrols has devoted marketing resources to the development of a strong Social Media presence in the belief that doing so will help to attract new customers, solidify brand loyalty, and further set the company apart from its competitors. Aquatrols has used Social Media to simplify and quickly distribute information on the complex science behind many of its products. Employees from every department have pitched in to create a healthy mix of Blog posts, podcasts, webinars, e-Books, and videos in an attempt to reach target audiences through their preferred medium.

Through the use of Social Media, Aquatrols employees have effectively positioned themselves as experts in the field of turfgrass science while enhancing strategic relationships with industry partners. Perhaps most importantly, the company has spent more than a year communicating with customers in ways that its competitors —who are not using Social Media — simply cannot.

In this 30-minute presentation, Nick Gadd and Michael Hanisco will discuss their experience with Aquatrols’ foray into Social Media and offer tips and advice for businesses looking to establish their own Social Media presence.
