Major phenotypic traits of 4 genotypes of energycane were estimated based on results from field experiments, including tiller production rate, leaf and stem elongation, node production, leaf area expansion, biomass partition to different organs, and leaf senescence.

A cohort-based plant population model was developed and linked to a 2-dimensional soil process model to simulate the biomass dynamics of the 4 energycane genotypes over time in 3 different locations under different management practices.  The model is being calibrated and tested against experiment data from multiple sites and years.
