Fertilizer use efficiency can be significantly increased with slow/controlled-release fertilizers because they release nutrients gradually and coincidentally with requirements of plants. Controlling release can be achieved by coating a film outside the conventional fertilizes and the release and dissolution rates of nutrients are depend on coating materials and coating methods. In our presentation, we will review and compare different materials and additives used for fertilizer coating including chitosan and graphene oxide.
