Enhancing the water use efficiency of prominent crops such as wheat, barley and potato is essential for the food security of Morocco region. Understanding the effect of rooting zone depth on water limited yield and yield potential is essential in this direction. Yield and agronomic data from various research trials will be collected and will be compared with the results from different crop simulation models. Based on these comparisons, further opportunities with respect to irrigation management practices such as amount and time of irrigation will be explored.
