Evidence gathered suggest that majority of seniors and first-year graduate students are not competent enough applying library resources to their courses. In line with this, database demonstration and library tour was incorporated into a writing-intensive soil fertility and nutrient management class. This class was selected because it has a balance of undergraduate and graduate students as well as live and on-line components. Students’ performance and response in the class will be compared between the 2012 group (without library component) and 2013 (with library component). Findings from surveys conducted at the beginning and end of the semester in 2013 will also be used to evaluate the effectiveness of the incorporation of information literacy into this course. The results that will be presented here will be the first of such in this course and institution.
