Organic and non-organic treatments in the long-term farming systems project (FSP) at the USDA ARS research center in Beltsville, MD were evaluated for repsonse to N inputs over two years. In organic systems with long history of N input as both manure and legume little to no reponse was oobserved from N inputs compared to no N treatment.

THese results indicate that accumlation of organic N over many years can result in little to no need for additional inputs.
