On-Farm Rescue N Trials for Corn.

Yield response was measured in 7 corn fields (total 11 trials) to rescue N when fields had been fully fertilized at planting but wet weather caused N loss.  Average yield response was 34 bushels/acre.  Yield response was greatest when visible N stress was greatest.  18 additional field-scale rescue N experiments were carried out in July 2014.  Any 2014 results available at meeting time will be reported, including relationship of yield response to corn color in aerial photos.
