200 Screening of the Movie, "Sizzle."

Oral Session
Special Sessions
Randy Olson refers to his movie “Sizzle” as a “global warming mocumentary.” It begins as a documentary that follows his efforts to make a movie about global climate change. Along the way he meets a variety of characters…some are sincere but not sure quite what it is that they are sincere about. Others are sadly misinformed but seemingly ignorant that they are. And then there are “our people”…the scientists who have looked at the data, are alarmed about it, but can’t quite seem to get through to the public as well as some of those misinformed types. So what’s the problem. This movie, through sometimes humorous, and sometimes challenging exchanges illustrates why even when science has the answers, we can’t seem to explain them to the world around us. Randy Olson is the film’s, producer, director, and central character and will also be present for the screening for commentary and to answer questions. Free popcorn and refreshments!
