Abstract:
Agronomy is an unknown science to many in today's society. There is a growing need for agronomists in our world with the growing population. As current agronomists itÕs our job to educate others on the fundamentals behind agronomy and also allow children to understand agronomists and how we literally "work in our fields." Spring Fest is an educational program through the Purdue College of Agriculture designed to reach out to the general public while focusing on children as we tell our story about agriculture while participating in fun filled activities on campus. Purdue agronomy provides many activities to allow children to learn about agronomy at Spring Fest. We hope that once children see the broad aspects of agronomy and it's importance that it ignites a spark that will leave them wanting to know more. With the knowledge of these impactful opportunities within agronomy, we hope it leads children to say ÒI want to be an agronomistÓ while looking at future occupations.
